Mende Lozère VolleyBall – Amateur and competitive volleyball in Lozère

Mende Lozère VolleyBall (MLVB) is a relatively new sports club that has already established itself as a major player in team sports in Lozère. Founded following the dissolution of Mende Volley Lozère, which went into receivership, it is not merely a continuation of the old club but a new, independent initiative driven by leaders, volunteers, and enthusiasts. MLVB asserts its own identity and affirms its commitment to offering a different vision: that of an amateur, competitive, and well-structured club, focused on both performance and development.

A New Beginning for Volleyball in Lozère

The creation of the MLVB stems from a strong desire to preserve and revitalize the place of volleyball in the region. After the end of the MVL, many people (leaders, coaches, fans, and former players) wanted to prevent volleyball from disappearing from Mende. The MLVB was therefore founded with a clear vision: to start anew on a solid foundation, build a balanced club, and ensure its long-term sustainability. This choice marks a deliberate break from the past. Whereas the old model relied on a high professional level that was difficult to sustain, the MLVB focuses on stability and local roots. Its ambition is not to compete with major professional clubs, but to position itself as an ambitious amateur club, capable of performing well in its leagues and offering a quality experience to its fans.

An amateur but competitive club

The MLVB firmly upholds its amateur identity. This does not mean sacrificing performance: on the contrary, the club aims to remain competitive in the regional and pre-national leagues where it competes. The players, driven by passion and collective commitment, proudly represent the colors of Mende and Lozère. Every home game becomes a highlight, bringing the crowd together around a dynamic and spectacular sport. This competitive spirit, combined with a friendly atmosphere, makes the MLVB a true driving force for sports in the department.

Training at the heart of the project

Passing on knowledge is at the heart of the project; the volleyball school welcomes children and teenagers, from beginners to experienced competitors. The goal is to foster a love of the sport, develop technical and physical skills, and instill the essential values of volleyball: respect, solidarity, and team spirit. The club also offers a program tailored to amateur seniors, allowing everyone to play according to their skill level and preferences. This inclusive approach promotes diversity and gender equality, welcoming both girls and boys, as well as young people and adults. The coaches and volunteers, often from the local area, play a central role in this program. They ensure not only the players’ technical development but also provide personal and educational support that contributes to everyone’s growth.
