The starting point was simple: a recurring need that existing tools handled poorly. The goal was to convert PNG and JPEG images to WebP in order to optimise website performance.
The need
Online converters partially solved it but came with limits: free tiers cap conversion volume, and using an online service means losing control over how your images might be used afterwards.
The solution
I built a desktop tool that converts images by the folder, in batch, preserving the original directory structure, so a whole media library can be optimised in one pass, locally.
