NRV Tarteaucitron: Manage cookie consent and GDPR compliance through a no-code interface, using the tarteaucitron.js library.
Background
Since the GDPR took effect, obtaining consent before placing trackers has been mandatory. NRV Tarteaucitron is the WordPress plugin developed by the NRV agency to address this requirement simply, using the open-source library tarteaucitron.js.
The plugin encapsulates the full power of tarteaucitron.js within an administrative interface accessible to non-developers. Without touching the code, the administrator can:
- customize the cookie management icon (shape, color, position);
- configure the consent banner (style, text, position);
- add or remove third-party services;
- edit the message using a WYSIWYG visual editor.

Analytics and tracking tools (Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, etc.) can be implemented in compliance with legal requirements without compromising campaign tracking.
Advanced Features
A submodule system detects other compatible extensions used by the agency and automatically prompts for consent. Developers can extend functionality using WordPress hooks and filters.

Installed on all of the agency’s websites, NRV Tarteaucitron is one of the most widely used plugins I’ve developed to date. It has since become part of the NRV Tools suite.
